Shivi was born in Trinidad (many moons ago) to culturally diverse parents and brought up between there, the heady heights of New York, the grassy fields of the English countryside, and the eclectic buzz of London.  It has meant that her first love, Caribbean food, has also been taken on a journey, still ongoing...  With the help of her adventures, Shivi has made it her culinary mission to twist these classic caribbean dishes and ingredients from her childhood into her own vibrant, fresh and easy-to-make delights.

London-based Shivi, has been dubbed by The Guardian as “Caribbean Food Supremo”, and by BA The Club magazine as "Queen of Contemporary Caribbean Cooking".  She has shared her unique, fresh and colourful approach to flavoursome Caribbean food across London and the UK, via her supper club, and subsequently through restaurant and brand collaborations and her first book, Caribbean Modern: Recipes From The Rum Islands.  Shivi, her food writing and her recipes have been featured in a host of publications including The Sunday Times, Delicious. magazine, The Mail on Sunday’s YOU magazine, The Metro and The Guardian, to name a few.  She has also appeared on BBC Woman's Hour and is a regular on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen.
